Spotlight on: Images of Yellowstone
by Meg Daly
Just in at the gallery is this gorgeous painting, Paint Pot, Yellowstone, by Elizabeth Wright. Many visitors to our gallery have just come from Yellowstone and we love connecting them with artwork featuring the wildlife and landscapes they just encountered.
Another powerful image is Judith Dragonette's Howl. This richly rendered oil painting emphasizes the wolf's full-throated howl. Not hard to imagine her in the moonlight in Yellowstone's Hayden Valley calling to her pack mates.
For the bison fans we have a huge array of works featuring these majestic creatures, from Nicole Tafoya's small clay and paper sculptures to Kris Batchelder's playful collages to Cynde Wilson's atmospheric painting of a mother and calf - to name just a few.
We are proud to represent over 80 local artists who are passionate about the place they call home. Buying art from local artists is a win-win: you go home with an original piece reminding you of your epic adventures, and at the same time you support the community that keeps Jackson Hole an exceptional place to visit.
