Art has always been a central part of my life even before I officially began my career as an artist.I took a 20-year detour to fly in the US Navy before returning as a full-time artist.During that time, I managed to take some classes with professional wildlife artists, experiment with a variety of art mediums, and study animal anatomy among other things. These experiences helped cement my focus in wildlife art. After several years of working the art show circuit in Florida, my wife and I added trips out West to our nomadic lifestyle. We would camp in a small RV across the country.During the day, I would look for animals and paint local plein air landscapes. When we visited Jackson, I met Fred Kingwill. He introduced me to some of the other local artists and I began painting weekly with the Teton Plein Air Painters. Before we knew it, my wife and I took the plunge to live in Wyoming full-time, allowing me to be fully engaged in the local art scene. In addition to participating in the many art events in the area, I have taught several art classes and am an active member of the Jackson Art Association and Wyoming Artist Association.
