Collection: BRENDA SWINNEY

Artist and fly fishing guide Brenda Swinney grew up in the Kansas City area, fishing with her family in the Missouri Ozarks for crappie, bass and catfish. She attended the Kansas City Art Institute and earned her BFA in Painting from the University of Kansas. After a decade-long career as a chef, she chose to head west and pursue her wildest dream of being a flyfishing guide. She has guided on the South Fork of the Snake River and surrounding rivers each summer since 1997. She is currently a head guide for WorldCast Anglers based in Victor, ID. Brenda has been featured on Flyfish Television with Jack Dennis and Sporting Fly’s Snake River Idaho DVD. Her “Plan B” (her friends call her “B”) fly pattern is a local favorite and was featured in Fly Tyer magazine.

Brenda spends her winters painting landscapes from the South Fork of the Snake River and Greater Yellowstone Territory. Her painting Pacific Creek Moose was the featured poster art of the 50th Anniversary Art Fair Jackson Hole in 2016. Her art is inspired by her hours lived on the rivers, floating through amazing landscapes and interacting with the local wildlife.
